National Flag Day in India is observed annually on July 22, marking the day the Constituent Assembly officially adopted the Tricolour as the National Flag on July 22, 1947, just weeks before India gained independence.

On July 22, 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings on National Flag Day, praising the Tricolour as “a proud symbol of the soul, identity, integrity and unity of 140 crore Indians.” He emphasized the collective duty to protect its honour.
